Non-EU Students

The Residence Permit Assistance Desk is a service provided by the University of Florence, in collaboration with the Florence Police Immigration Office (Questura di Firenze), to support non-EU students in applying for or renewing their residence permit.

Non-EU citizens who intend to stay in Italy for more than three months must apply for a residence permit within 8 working days of entering the country.

The Residence Permit Assistance Desk provides:

  • practical support in completing the postal kit required to submit a first application or renew a residence permit;
  • guidance on the required documents;
  • information on the procedures and the next steps after submitting the application.

Who is it for

The service is intended for non-EU students enrolled or about to enroll at the University of Florence who need to:

  • apply for their first residence permit;
  • renew their residence permit.

How to access the service

The service is available by appointment only through the U-FIRST app.

Where we are

You will be welcomed at the Novoli Campus (Building D1), room 03, ground floor.

Opening hours:

  • Wednesday 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
  • Friday 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
