The Confidential Counselor is a role established by the University to provide listening, guidance, and assistance to anyone who believes they have been a victim of harassment or discrimination in study or work environments.
The Counselor operates with full independence and impartiality, ensuring confidentiality and anonymity for all individuals involved.
The Counselor assesses the validity of the reports received and supports the individuals concerned in managing the reported situations, contributing to the prevention and counteraction of harassment and discrimination, in accordance with University regulations.
The Confidential Counselor of the University of Florence, appointed by Rector’s Decree no. 420 of 21 March 2024 for a three-year term, is lawyer Marina Capponi, a professional with extensive experience in equal opportunities and protection against discrimination.
Anyone in need may contact the Confidential Counselor to receive support and guidance in a protected and confidential setting.
Contact is voluntary and ensures the utmost confidentiality, with full respect for the individual and the situation described.
The Confidential Counselor receives reports and carries out an initial assessment of the facts, verifying their validity.
